Lakes Volleyball Scholarship opportunities - apply now!
We’re excited to announce that Lakes Volleyball Scholarship opportunities are now available. These scholarships are designed to support our athletes as they continue their education and maybe even their volleyball journey beyond high school. Playing volleyball beyond highschool is not required.
Up to five (5) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors. Scholarships are open to all Lakes Volleyball player, provided all eligibility criteria are met (defined below).
Scholarship Criteria
Scholarship recipients will be selected based on athletic participation, academic achievement, and community involvement.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for a $1,000 Lakes Volleyball Scholarship, applicants must:
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 from grades 10 through the first semester/quarter of grade 12
- Have participated on a Lakes Volleyball team for at least two seasons
- Plan to attend a college, university, or technical school following graduation
- Complete and submit the scholarship application neatly and in full by the stated deadline
- Note: Scholarship is open to players outside of District 831 if all criteria are met
Essay Requirement
On a separate page, applicants must submit an essay (maximum 500 words) addressing:
- What participation in Lakes Volleyball has meant to you
- How the program has helped develop your leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth
- Your involvement in extracurricular activities, community service, volunteering, and any leadership roles you have held
Letter of Recommendation
Applicants must include one (1) letter of recommendation from a non-relative, such as:
- A teacher or instructor
- A coach
- An employer
- Another individual who knows you well
The letter should describe the personal qualities and attributes that make you a strong candidate for this scholarship.
